The task of the state is to provide sufficient energy resources for the whole country to ensure warmth in the houses. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular Government meeting on November 3.

The Prime Minister noted that the world is experiencing an energy crisis. In particular, gas prices in Europe are at an all-time high, and coal prices have risen at least three times since last year. At the same time, according to the PM, the Government has crafted several different scenarios that will allow the heating season to pass smoothly.

"Tariffs for the population will remain stable this heating season. The local authorities have made a corresponding commitment in the Memorandum with the Government and Naftogaz," the Prime Minister stressed.

Denys Shmyhal emphasized that the Cabinet of Ministers in synergy with lawmakers increased the size of the subsidy program by UAH 12 billion and at the same time increased the amount of subsidies for citizens.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the head of the Sumy Regional State Administration and the head of Naftogaz to solve the problem of heating with the boiler room of the Sumy National Agrarian University.

"The establishment should supply heating to people at the price of gas set for the population. By the end of this week, a list of facilities where there are similar problems should be identified and mechanisms for solving them should be shaped," Denys Shmyhal underscored.
