  • Taras Vysotskyi: It is important to prevent restrictions on seed exports as a guarantee of food security

    Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, met with Ihor Teslenko, President of Corteva Agriscience in Europe, Middle East and Africa, on the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.

    The parties discussed the prospects for the development of Ukrainian seed production, including increasing exports to European countries. Taras Vysotskyi emphasised the importance of preventing any restrictions on the export of Ukrainian seeds as a guarantee of food security.

    The parties also discussed cooperation in expanding the access of Ukrainian seeds to the European Union, including the start of exports of oilseeds, in particular sunflower. They also discussed the possibility of launching a joint programme to monitor the quality of agricultural soils in the de-occupied territories..

    Taras Vysotskyi thanked Corteva Agriscience for supporting social programmes for Ukrainians and Ukrainian farmers.

    He also expressed his gratitude to the company’s management for decisively ceasing operations in russia after its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
