Enemy attacked energy infrastructure facilities in 6 regions; restrictions applied to more than 200,000 customers in Kharkiv region
POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION
Yesterday, electricity consumption increased by almost 9% compared to the volume consumed on Monday.
Due to grid restrictions on the transmission system operator’s lines, blackout schedules were applied yesterday in Kharkiv region and for industry in Kryvyi Rih. Restrictions in these regions are still in effect today (in Kharkiv for 200,000 customers). In other regions, consumers were not restricted.
In the southern regions, to prevent overloading of equipment at one of the high-voltage substations, the transmission system operator limited the generation of electricity from renewable sources from 10:30 to 16:00.
Over the past day, the needs of consumers were covered by domestic generation and commercial imports. Ukraine also provided emergency power to Poland in the evening at its request.
Today, during the morning peak hours, at Ukraine’s request, emergency electricity is being supplied from the power systems of Poland, Romania and Slovakia.
In the evening, electricity consumption may be restricted.
CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING
The enemy massively attacked electricity generation and transmission facilities in Poltava, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Vinnytsia regions. The consequences are being assessed. There was also damage to the gas infrastructure in the western region. There were no casualties or injuries. Power engineers are working together with the State Emergency Service to eliminate the consequences.
LET’S CONSUME RESPONSIBLY!
Given the significant damage caused to the power grid, we ask consumers to reduce the use of energy-intensive appliances during peak hours (especially in the evening from 19:00 to 22:00). We also ask the industry to review its production processes to reduce the load on the power system and to use imports as much as possible to avoid outages and strengthen the resilience of the power system.
CONSEQUENCES OF BAD WEATHER
Due to bad weather, 31 settlements remain without electricity. Most of them are in Chernihiv and Sumy regions.
SITUATION AT ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 15.39 metres. This is sufficient to meet the plant’s needs.
IMPORT/EXPORT
For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 7,600 MWh. No exports are planned.
