POWER GENERATION, TRANSMISSION, CONSUMPTION
The situation in the energy sector remains difficult. There is a significant shortage of generating capacity in the system due to massive hostile attacks since spring this year, and shelling continues, especially in the frontline areas. Substations and power transmission lines often come under fire.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s power system has been receiving surplus electricity from the Polish power system.
Today, it is planned that the hourly outage schedules will be in effect from 0:00 to 24:00. For information about changes in the schedules, please visit the official websites of the regional power distribution companies in your regions.
There will be no outages for critical infrastructure companies and companies that import more than 80% of electricity for their needs in accordance with the government decree.
The main reason for the electricity supply restrictions is the enemy’s attacks on the energy infrastructure and the negative consequences of these attacks. 9 GW of generating capacity has been lost.
CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING
In Chernihiv region, fragments of a drone were found at one of the transmission system operator’s substations and equipment was damaged. Consumers did not lose power.
In Donetsk region, an overhead line was disconnected during the hostilities. As a result, the substation and the household consumers connected to it, as well as a mine, lost power. There were 57 workers underground and they were brought to the surface. All consumers have been supplied with electricity.
In Chernihiv region, an overhead line was disconnected due to hostile shelling, which led to a power outage for 413 household consumers in 6 settlements.
In Kherson region, an overhead line was disconnected due to a wire break as a result of hostilities. Residential consumers were cut off from electricity.
In Zaporizhzhia region, a drone of an unidentified type was spotted near a high-voltage substation. The State Emergency Service and police were called and the drone was removed.
EMERGENCIES
In Rivne region, a car body came too close to an overhead power line while unloading crushed stone, causing a person near the car to be fatally electrocuted.
STATE OF THE GRID
A high-voltage overhead line was disconnected in Kyiv region. The reason was damage to the section that runs through the territory of belarus (after 24.02.2022, Ukrainian power engineers have no access to its maintenance).
In Sumy region, a high-voltage overhead line was disconnected, which resulted in a power outage of the cable line and the gas turbine unit connected to it. The line is back online and everyone is supplied with power.
In Poltava region, a high-voltage overhead line was disconnected due to a technological malfunction. Several substations were de-energised, which disrupted the production process at one of the enterprises. All consumers were reconnected.
In Donetsk region, a high-voltage overhead line was disconnected, which led to power outages at substations and household consumers.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, an overhead line was disconnected due to technological failures, which resulted in a power outage at substations and the enterprise, disrupting the production process. The enterprise was powered by a backup scheme.
POWER OUTAGES FOR CONSUMERS
Power engineers supplied power to 28,079 consumers who were cut off from electricity as a result of hostilities and technological disruptions.
A total of 533 settlements remain without power due to hostilities and technical disruptions.
SITUATION AT ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 14.86 metres. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant.
IMPORT/EXPORT
During the day, it is planned to import electricity from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary with a maximum capacity of 1,298 MW.
No exports are planned and are not expected.
