Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, posted 15 March 2024 10:11

A mine in Donetsk region was de-energised due to shelling, workers were trapped underground; there is no electricity shortage

    POWER GENERATION

There is no shortage of electricity and it is not expected for the current day. Necessary repairs are being carried out at Khmelnytskyi NPP. Seven nuclear power units are operating at full capacity. The reserves of heat and hydro generation are also used to meet the needs of consumers. Commercial electricity imports and exports are planned.

The situation is under control. The system is balanced. No blackout schedules are applied.

    CONSEQUENCES OF SHELLING

In a frontline town in Kharkiv region, a mechanic of the local branch of gas distribution networks tripped an explosive device. Unfortunately, he was killed.

The hostilities caused a substation in Donetsk region to lose power. As a result, almost 8,000 household consumers and a coal mine (with 5 workers in the mine) lost power, and the mine is currently being powered by a generator.

Rocket attacks during the day damaged 10 kV overhead lines in two communities in Chernihiv region, cutting off power to about 1,500 consumers.

    NETWORK STATUS

Due to technological problems, a 330 kV high-voltage line of NPC Ukrenergo in Kyiv region was briefly out of service. The line is in operation.

    SITUATION AT ZNPP

The water level in the cooling pond has slightly decreased to 15.52 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.

Power engineers have returned the 330 kV line supplying Zaporizhzhia NPP to operation.

    IMPORT/EXPORT

For the current day, electricity imports are forecasted at 6,652 MWh. Exports of up to 4,310 MWh are also expected.
