The team of the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine met with Jürgen Rigterink, First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Matteo Patrone, Managing Director for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus, and Irina Kravchenko, Deputy Head of EBRD in Ukraine.
“Ukraine is developing strategic projects aimed at developing Ukraine’s export capacity. Among them are the projects of Ukrzaliznytsia and the Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development. We are focused on accelerating bilateral cooperation with the EBRD. The Ministry is interested in making procurement procedures as fast as possible,” said Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development.
He noted that the Ministry’s team had monitored more than 100 projects in the transport sector to identify priorities, funding status, needs, implementation and readiness.
In his turn, Jürgen Rigterink emphasised the strong partnership between Ukraine and the EBRD and the Bank’s readiness to strengthen cooperation.
The World Bank estimates that Ukraine’s reconstruction and rehabilitation needs over the next 10 years will amount to almost USD 485 billion.
