A shortage of electricity in the power system due to shelling, no power supply restrictions applied in any region
Power generation and consumption
Due to the damage to generating equipment caused by shelling and increased consumption, the electricity system experienced a slight deficit (1 to 2.5% of daily electricity consumption).
In order to balance the system, emergency imports from neighbouring countries have been used as one of the tools to cover the increase in consumption.
The use of this tool is also planned for today.
There are currently no outage schedules in any of the regions. The situation is under control. The power system is balanced.
However, it is important to reduce the load on the power system during peak consumption hours (especially in the evening from 17:00 to 19:00).
The Ministry of Energy appeals to consumers to help the power engineers by reducing the use of energy-intensive appliances during the morning and evening peak hours.
Consequences of the shelling
Throughout the day, the enemy shelled thermal power plants in the frontline area. Two units were put under emergency repair due to significant damage. The shelling also caused a power outage on a 330 kV line.
A rocket attack hit one of the mines of SE Toretskvuhillia. Operations at the mine were suspended.
Fighting damaged equipment and caused a substation in Kharkiv region to catch fire. A hospital and household consumers lost electricity.
Situation at the ZNPP
The water level in the cooling pond is 15.66 metres. This is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
Import/export
Electricity imports totalled 1,122 MWh. There were no exports.
