Sumy region to receive another UAH 100 million in support for frontline communities: Oleksii Kuleba
Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine and Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba took part in the International Conference “Resilience and the European Future of Sumy region”. In his speech, he stressed the importance of supporting frontline territories and announced a second tranche of state aid – UAH 100 million for the region’s communities.
“Frontline regions are the boundary that separates Europe from russian aggression. Every day, there are shellings, strikes on energy infrastructure, railways, and critical facilities. Getting through this heating season is a shared challenge for the Government, local authorities, businesses, communities, and our international partners,” noted Oleksii Kuleba.
He emphasised that the Programme for Supporting Frontline Regions, aimed at rapid recovery, enhanced security, and community resilience, was launched in Sumy region. This year, the state has already provided an additional UAH 200 million subsidy to 25 communities in the region. The funds were directed towards purchasing modular shelters, building materials, specialised equipment, vehicles, and carrying out emergency repair works.
“We are now preparing a second tranche of UAH 100 million, which the region will receive by the end of the year. We are seeking new ways to support such communities so that each one can endure and continue to live,” stressed the Deputy Prime Minister.
Oleksii Kuleba also thanked international partners for their ongoing support, emphasising that the combined efforts of the Government, local communities, and donors are what create the country’s real resilience.
