
Strategy for developing social services: working group identifies challenges and key objectives to underpin document
A regular meeting of the working group drafting the Strategy for the Development of Social Services took place in Kyiv. The group includes representatives of the Ministry of Social Policy, the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, NGOs and international organisations.
This is the third meeting of the specialised experts. While at the previous meetings, the experts discussed the state of affairs in the provision of social services, international experience and how it correlates with the situation in Ukraine, this time they focused on the main challenges facing the social sector. In addition, they discussed and identified the main strategic goals that need to be achieved to build an effective, accessible system of social services that will be aimed at developing people’s self-sufficiency.
In their work, the group of experts is guided by research conducted by the consulting company CIVITTA, UNDP and a number of NGOs.
