    November 20, the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine/ Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv opened the XVII International Industrial Forum.

    High-tech innovative equipment of the new generation, modern tools and technologies, control and measuring equipment, technological equipment, components and innovative design developments were presented at the forum.

    In his speech, Stepan Kubiv congratulated the participants of the forum and emphasized the importance of cooperation between Ukrainian industrialists and foreign partners in order to create high-quality Ukrainian industrial products.

    "International trade of industrial goods plays a significant role in the Ukrainian economy: in particular, in 2017 foreign exchange earnings from industrial exports amounted to $ 28.4 billion, which contributed to stabilizing the economy. In 2017, the volume of commodity exports from Ukraine to the European Union grew to $18 billion, which gives grounds for the recovery of export volumes to the EU to the level of  2014," Stepan Kubiv emphasized.

    He also stressed that, despite economic losses due to Russia's military and economic aggression against Ukraine, the occupation of part of the territories in the east and the annexation of Crimea, Ukrainian industry is and will be the driving force for boosting economic development.

    "The development of high-tech, innovative industries, increase  productivity and better resource efficiency,  transition from raw material processing to production of high added value will remain overriding priorities. For this purpose, the Government and the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade  are focusing significantly on the implementation of innovations in industry," Stepan Kubiv emphasized.

    The First Vice Prime Minister stressed that the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has shaped the Strategy for Industry Development till 2025, which envisages the implementation of the state industrial policy with a broader task - sustainable economic growth, raising the level of overall security of Ukraine and raising the standard of living of  citizens.

    Background

    The XVII International Industrial Forum gathered more than 350 participants from more than 30 countries of the world. Visitors got opportunity to get acquainted with modern trends in the development of Ukrainian and world mechanical engineering as well as to view the most modern industrial developments and technologies.
