The Ministry of Social Policy is the National Coordinator in the sector of counteraction to trafficking in human beings and is taking measures to shape the state policy in this area, coordinate activities of central and local authorities, ensure the identification of the person who suffered from trafficking in human beings, and engage international and public organizations in cooperation.
In order to improve the state policy in the field of combating trafficking in human beings, on November 20, 2018, Deputy Minister of Social Policy Natalia Fedorovych and IOM Ukraine Chief of Mission Dr. Thomas Lothar Weiss presented an online training course "Counteraction to Trafficking in Human Beings" aimed at bringing to a single standard the provision of educational services for training specialists in the framework of the extension of the National mechanism of interaction of subjects engaged in counter-trafficking activities through the creation of a unified training material for end users, as well as methodical toolkit for trainers.
The course is designed to train representatives of local authorities, local governments, non-governmental organizations, as well as other institutions and organizations engaged in combating trafficking in human beings in Ukraine, and fully compliant with the Program of training specialists to provide assistance to people who have become victims of trafficking in human beings, approved by the order of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine No. 508 dated August 16, 2013.
"We are very grateful to our partners, the IOM Mission in Ukraine, for the joint development of a course on combating trafficking in human beings, which will become a compulsory component in improving the skills of officials responsible for identification of a person who suffered from trafficking in human beings, as well as other individuals taking actions in the field of combating trafficking in human beings", emphasized Natalia Fedorovych.
