Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solskyi, during a working trip to Brussels, met with the EU Commissioner for Agriculture Janusz Wojciechowski and the Director-General of the Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development Wolfgang Butcher.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the boosting of export of Ukrainian agricultural products. The Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food emphasized that Ukraine can expand exports under certain conditions. This is the simplification of logistics, the increase of European grain carriers - rail and road, as well as the development of new routes.
The Minister offered support for European manufacturers of grain trucks should be rendered by providing them with state subsidies. Such joint steps will hold down the prices on the market of agricultural products.
"If this program works, I'm sure it will hold prices in place and stop inflation. Simplified logistics will allow for cheaper transportation of gran. These routes have a very high chance of becoming permanent, reshaping the market and encouraging closer connections within Central Europe," said Mykola Solskyi.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of building a pipeline from Ukraine to Poland to transport oil.
"This pipeline will open up new opportunities for Poland and Ukraine. The more private businesses join in, the better," said Mykola Solskyi.
