Ministry of Health of Ukraine, posted 22 May 2020 10:49

The second stage of quarantine is starting today, on May 22, in Ukraine. Restrictive measures will be lifted on the principle of adaptability (i.e. in each region separately), depending on the situation on the ground. This will allow us to keep the spread of the virus under control. This was announced by the Minister of Health Maxym Stepanov at a daily briefing.

"Ukraine has developed a very clear mechanism for quarantine exit, with specific indicators for quarantine restriction relaxation. From May 22 - the second stage: the operation of public, suburban and internal transport is resumed, religious institutions are also allowed to operate, but on condition - 1 person per 10 square meters. In addition, the work of hotels is being restored, but it doesn’t apply to the operation of restaurants in them," said Maxym Stepanov.

According to the Minister of Health, from May 25, the Government will allow the opening of subways, but on condition of the use of face masks and respirators. It is also planned to open kindergartens.

"The next stage is from June 1. Then the operation of fitness centers, interregional transportation will be allowed, and from June 10 - the cafes and restaurants will open," summed up Minister Maxym Stepanov.
