According to the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as of 9:00 a.m. on May 22, in Ukraine there have been confirmed 20,148 COVID-19 cases, 588 patients died, 6,585 patients recovered. In total 1,434 cases among children and 3,907 cases among healthcare workers were recorded. During the 24 hours, 442 new cases have been confirmed.

Volyn region - 740 cases;
Dnipropetrovsk region - 859 cases;
Donetsk region - 141 cases;
Zhytomyr region - 607 cases;
Zakarpattia region – 1,003 cases;
Zaporizhia region - 401 cases;
Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,268 cases;
Kirovohrad region - 460 cases;
Kyiv – 2,522 cases;
Kyiv region – 1,344 cases;
Lviv region – 1,240 cases;
Luhansk region - 43 cases;
Mykolaiv region - 277 cases;
Odesa region - 814 cases;
Poltava region - 266 cases;
Rivne region – 1,323 cases;
Sumy region - 166 cases;
Ternopil region – 1,105 cases;
Kharkiv region - 866 cases;
Kherson region – 173 cases;
Khmelnytsky region - 299 cases;
Chernivtsi region – 2,905 cases;
Cherkasy region - 383 cases;
Chernihiv region - 119 cases.
Data from the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk regions and the city of Sevastopol are not available.
13,816 patients, out of this number 1,186 children and 3,190 medical workers have been undergoing outpatient treatment. A total of 6,332 people were hospitalized, including 248 children and 717 healthcare workers. There are 256 people including 1 child and 22 healthcare workers having severe symptoms and undergoing treatment with the use of artificial lung ventilation machines.
A total of 6,585 people have already recovered, including 1,722 medical workers - repeat laboratory testing has found no virus in body.
The studies were conducted by the Virology Reference Laboratory of the Public Health Center of Ukraine, as well as by regional laboratories. As of morning of May 22, 2020, the Center received 1,284 reports of suspected COVID-19 cases. Since the beginning of 2020, 50,636 COVID-19 suspicions have been received.
