    Ukrainian roads, ports and railways are the pillars of economic growth.  Systemic modernization will lead to a new quality of the economy and disclosure of our great potential. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, while addressing the employees of PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia on the occasion of their professional holiday - the Day of the Railwayman.

    "Systemic modernization of the infrastructure should trigger a new quality of development of the national economy. And in this regard, Ukrzaliznytsia plays an extremely important role because it forms 3% of GDP and helps the economy to grow. Today we constantly supporting  the railway and we began to update the rolling stock. Significant investments are already aimed at restoring what over the years has been neglected", Volodymyr Groysman stated.

    The Head of Government stressed that the  efficient work of the railway is one of the most burning issues both for the state and for business. That is why the new management, technical and technological decisions in logistics and use of existing fixed assets are really needed.

    "Ukraine's potential  is growing. And it depends on you how far it can be accelerated. Ukrzaliznytsia is a separate page of the development of our state. This is ambitious enterprise that has enormous development opportunities. The future of the railway will be bright ", the Head of Government claimed.

    Background

    At present, PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia encapsulates 6 railways, more than 80% of all freight and 36% of all passenger traffic in Ukraine. The enterprise ranks fourth place in terms of freight traffic on the Eurasian continent, second only to the railways of China, Russia and India. The enterprise employs 300 thousand people - it is almost 2% of the total number of able-bodied population of Ukraine.
