The Government has allocated funds received from Lithuania and the UNITED24 fundraising to equip two more shelters. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made the decision on 5 December.
The resolution provides for the allocation of funds for:
- Construction of a radiation protection shelter on the territory of a gymnasium in Zvyagel, Zhytomyr region. Over UAH 22.6 million has been allocated for this purpose. Part of the funds was redirected from a grant provided by the Lithuanian government, and another UAH 4.7 million was the surplus left over from the UNITED24 fundraising for the reconstruction of the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynskyi lyceum in Chernihiv region.
- Repairing the shelter of the Pershotravnevskyi hub lyceum in Dnipropetrovsk region for a total of almost UAH 3.3 million. The Government redirected these funds from the UNITED24 fundraising campaign held during the Rising Star charity exhibition.
International donors, the UNITED24 platform and its donors support the Government’s priority of returning students to full-time and safe education.
