Another 48 injured Ukrainians evacuated to foreign clinics thanks to cooperation between Ministry of Health and European Commission

For nine months of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Ministry of Health together with the European Commission have been organizing evacuation flights for citizens affected by the armed aggression of russia.

Primarily, children and adults with complex mine blast injuries and burn injuries, children with oncological pathology, as well as people requiring complex specialized treatment are transported to foreign clinics.

This week, 48 patients were evacuated and delivered for specialized treatment to medical institutions in Poland, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway and France.

The group includes patients with mine blast injuries they received as a result of enemy shelling, as well as civilians with oncological diseases. In particular, these are people from Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne and Poltava regions. They will be provided with specialized treatment and further rehabilitation in foreign clinics.

International partners in cooperation with the Emergency Medical Service of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine arrange transportation of patients from a hospital in the frontline area through the Lviv medical hub to an airfield in Poland. Then air hospitals or special air transport transfer Ukrainians to European countries for specialized treatment.

We remind that Ukrainians affected by war can receive treatment and rehabilitation abroad. To do this, they should contact their family doctor or fill out a preliminary application for the Medical Evacuation Program on the website of the Ministry under the “For Citizens” section.
