Sergii Koretskyi discusses financial support for Ukraine in 2026–2027 with Valdis Dombrovskis

Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi discussed financial support for Ukraine in 2026–2027 with European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity Valdis Dombrovskis.

The Government is working to fulfil its commitments under the Ukraine Plan and the Memorandum of Understanding on macro-financial assistance.

“We intend to make full use of the financial resources available through these instruments. We plan to adopt all the necessary Government decisions by 1 November. At the same time, we are working with the Verkhovna Rada to secure the adoption of the required legislation,” Sergii Koretskyi said.

The parties agreed to strengthen cooperation between Ukrainian ministries and the relevant European Commission directorates-general, as well as coordination with the IMF and other international partners.

“It is important to have a clear and coordinated assessment of Ukraine’s budgetary and defence needs for 2026 and 2027,” the Prime Minister noted.

Sergii Koretskyi also stressed the need to maintain pressure on russia by strengthening sanctions, enforcing compliance and countering attempts to circumvent them.

Accession to the European Union remains an absolute priority for Ukraine.

“We look forward to the remaining negotiating clusters being opened as soon as possible. I thank Valdis Dombrovskis for a substantive discussion and his steadfast support for Ukraine,” the Prime Minister concluded.
