  • Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories: Host communities should take care of IDP children evacuated from dangerous areas

During a national telethon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk once again called on parents to take their children out of areas under intense hostile shelling.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the state would do everything possible to socialise the evacuated children in the host communities.

This applies in particular to children who leave as part of a mandatory evacuation.

According to the official, representatives of local authorities and regional military administrations should ensure that IDP children are enrolled in schools and kindergartens in the host communities.

The Deputy Prime Minister advised that preference should be given to offline learning so that children could more easily adapt to their new place among their peers.

The official also stressed that any family member could go with the child. However, it is better to go with the whole family.
