Communications Department of the Secretariat of the CMU, posted 28 July 2023 16:31

    Dear Ukrainians, distinguished colleagues.

Today Ukraine marks the Day of Statehood.

Over the course of its thousand-year history, Ukrainians have understood not only the importance of their State, but also the painful and bloody cost of losing it.

Our ancestors never stopped fighting. Thousands of brave people at different times were united around one mighty idea. The idea to regain Ukraine's independence and create a strong, unique and successful state for future generations. Ukraine has always been, still stands and will endure!

We bow low to our defenders who are defending Ukraine. Eternal memory to the heroes who fell on the battlefield...

We are advancing with faith in a strong, peaceful and independent Ukraine. Until Ukraine wins.

The Government focuses on the economic sustainability of our country. Yesterday, at a forum dedicated to the anniversary of the eRobota non-refundable grant program, we personally talked to entrepreneurs who had taken advantage of it. This is one of the programs that is highly effective and needed by entrepreneurs today. More than 6,000 new businesses and 20,000 new jobs are undeniable proof. And this is in the first year of a full-scale war.

The eRobota program has an extraordinary potential, which is why the Government will expand it. In particular, we have launched grants for the creation of veteran businesses.

Today the Government approves changes to the procedure for providing grants for the creation or development of processing enterprises. These changes primarily concern the de-occupied territories. We want people to return, create new businesses and workplaces. We are helping businesses that continue to operate in the frontline regions. To do this, we are introducing the following changes: the state will provide a grant of 80% of the project cost for a processing plant in the de-occupied or frontline areas instead of 50%. 20% is co-financing from the entrepreneur. Meanwhile, the adopted amendments will allow local authorities to co-finance the project of a processing enterprise located in the territory of the community. This is crucial for communities because it means jobs, taxes, and development.

This week, together with the Government team we have visited the forum dedicated to the anniversary of the Army of Drones project. We have a number of promising projects that bring our victory closer day by day. The Government has already allocated UAH 40 billion to invest in Ukrainian drone manufacturers. This day we are to adopt a decision that will allow drone manufacturers to become Diia.City residents. We are talking not only about manufacturing companies, but also about those who produce components and those who teach drone control. Diia.City is a unique tool with appropriate benefits and preferences, and therefore it will allow us to raise the production of drones one step higher.

All this is to ensure that there are more drones and fewer enemies of Ukraine thanks to them.

    Finally, two more critical decisions:

The first concerns our priority project Euroborder. We are building a new logistics system and have already launched an electronic queue for trucks. Today, we are approving a resolution that extends the electronic queue to passenger cars and buses that carry out passenger transportation. This will help reduce queues at the border and make crossing it more comfortable. The pilot project for buses will start in August.

Moreover, the Government will endorse a resolution on the start of the school year. The educational process will start on September 1, 2023, and will last until June 28, 2024. Regional military administrations with the participation of the educational institutions' founders must ensure the organization of the beginning of the school year depending on the security situation in each individual administrative-territorial unit. The most significant thing is the safety of children and the educational process.

The construction of comfortable and high-quality shelters is the number one issue that we have raised with the communities. Funds have been allocated for this purpose. UAH 1.5 billion. Local authorities and communities play a key role in these decisions. I want to reiterate: children’s safety is a top priority.

We keep working for the victory of the Ukrainian state.

Thank you for your attention. Glory to Ukraine!
