Good afternoon, dear colleagues, dear Ukrainians.
This week we have a number of important news from the diplomatic front.
The Ukrainian delegation took part in the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Peace Formula voiced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is gaining increasing support from our partners. Everyone understands that true and lasting peace in Europe is possible only after Ukraine's complete victory.
In Davos, First Lady Olena Zelenska raised key issues of humanitarian aid, restoration of social infrastructure, and programs to support IDPs and children. Members of the Government held talks with officials and businessmen from many countries to strengthen Ukraine's economic front and form a strong coalition in support of Ukraine.
Restoration and transformation of Ukraine. This topic was one of the key topics at this year's Davos Forum. We are launching a large-scale reconstruction program. We are looking for ways to encourage private sector investment in the economy. We can see that global giants are interested in participating in the transformation and reconstruction program of Ukraine.
Our goal is not just to rebuild the old, but to transform and shape a renewed Ukraine. Our accession to the European Union will be an integral part of this transformation. Yesterday, our good friend, President of the European Council Charles Michel visited Ukraine. We heard him say that Ukraine is the EU and the EU is Ukraine, that Europe will continue to provide active assistance in the military, financial and humanitarian spheres.
Our other three key priorities are to commence negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU, to establish a special international tribunal to prosecute russian war criminals, and to confiscate russian assets to rebuild Ukraine. Important progress has already been made on all of these points.
Also this week, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi visited Ukraine. A month ago in Paris, Mr. Rafael Grossi and I agreed that the IAEA would send its missions to all nuclear power plants in Ukraine. We have managed to fulfill these agreements. Today, the IAEA is finalizing the stationing of permanent missions to Rivne, Chornobyl, and Pivdennoukrainsk NPPs. In the coming days, the permanent mission at Khmelnytsky NPP should start working.
We continue negotiations on a demilitarized zone around Zaporizhzhia NPP, as the presence of russian troops there poses a significant threat to the entire continent.
This week has been extremely fruitful for new military aid packages for Ukraine
Yesterday, 9 European countries adopted the so-called Tallinn Pledge. The United Kingdom, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Denmark, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Slovakia announced new packages and measures of military support for Ukraine and assured that the support would extend. Many of these aid packages are truly unprecedented and record-breaking for the entire period of the war
Yesterday, the United States announced a USD 2.5 billion military aid package. New massive supplies are expected from Sweden, Finland, Canada, Germany, Italy and France.
Today there is taking place a meeting in the Ramstein format to discuss further steps of support. Our allies understand that for Ukraine to ensure its victory in 2023, we need more modern weapons.
We will definitely defeat the enemy thanks to the help of our friends, our unity, courage and our defense forces.
Thank you for attention. Glory to Ukraine!
