The mortgage lending program has increased by 1.5% this week. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced speaking in the Verkhovna Rada during A Question Time for the Government.
The Prime Minister dwelled on that today the mortgage rate is already available at less than 10%: "This is what the President and the Government promised. Literally in the morning, we held a meeting with bankers: the mortgage lending program in Ukraine as a whole increased by 1.5% per week. These are drivers that create additional jobs and spur the economy."
Answering questions from MPs, the Prime Minister noted that private enterprises are currently actively using government programs to stimulate small and medium-sized businesses to repay wage arrears.
"And these are exactly the tools provided by the Government and the Parliament to businesses to manage the process of reducing wage arrears, in particular," Denys Shmyhal stressed.
The PM emphasized noted that one of the drivers of economic development, which gives an economic multiplier effect, is the President's program "Great Construction".
"The construction of schools, kindergartens, stadiums, roads and other social infrastructure objects are the multiplicative approaches to economic development that create the largest number of jobs in related industries. And the financing of such facilities, in fact, allows Ukraine to go through the economic crisis quite smoothly," the Prime Minister underscored.
