We keep up active work to enhance the protection of energy facilities: Prime Minister pays a working visit to Mykolaiv region
On 26 September, during a working trip to Mykolaiv region, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal inspected the construction of energy facilities and preparations for the heating season.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that energy issues, its restoration and protection, remain a priority for the Government these days.
"Last night, the enemy mounted another massive attack on the Ukrainian energy sector, using drones and missiles. In particular, three electricity transmission facilities were targeted, one of them in Mykolaiv region. But the russian terrorists did not achieve their goals - Ukraine's power system is operating in a balanced mode, no power outages are planned," the Prime Minister stressed.
In Mykolaiv region, the Government team inspected the progress of construction of engineering protection structures at power substations. The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration reported on the overall situation.
"We heard problematic issues and discussed our next steps. There are no details here. We continue our intensive work to strengthen the protection of energy facilities," said Denys Shmyhal.
He also added that Ukraine was building a distributed generation system. In Mykolaiv, the Head of Government got acquainted with the process of installing two cogeneration units with a capacity of 1.5 MW each, which are intended to provide heat to more than 200 apartment buildings, 5 medical and 24 educational institutions.
"In total, by the new heating season, Mykolaivoblteploenergo has committed to build 5 distributed generation facilities based on gas-piston cogeneration units with a total capacity of 5.5 MW," the Prime Minister said.
