Auctions to sell small-scale privatization facilities through the electronic procurement system ProZorro.Sale have already brought over UAH 1 billion over nine months to the state, said Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Olexandr Saienko.

According to him, over this period, 808 auctions were conducted through the ProZorro.Sale system, 552 state-owned facilities placed on auctions by the State Property Fund of Ukraine and local governments were sold.

In particular,  revenues from the sale of real estate made up UAH 826 million, revenues from the sale of property complexes – UAH 103 million, corporate rights – UAH 101 million, transport equipment - UAH 29.5 million, industrial equipment - UAH 10 million.

"We have the following record amount  of small privatization: the most expensive successful lot sold - UAH 57 million for a stake in the Orion Ternopil Radio Plant ; the most expensive  lot – UAH 50 million for premises in Lviv on the Market Square with a total area of 481 square meters; the largest increase in the price is 80,000% for administrative building with a total area of 65 square  meters  in Khmelnytskiy region", the Minister added.

Apart from that, Olexandr Saienko emphasized that unfortunately large-scale privatization is still being blocked by the court.

"This demonstrates that the transparent process initiated by the Government, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, the State Property Fund of Ukraine together with our international partners encounters some obstacles. This is literally unprecedented case when the Government and the State Property Fund because of the court decision are deprived of the opportunity to attract investments in the public sector", the Minister stressed.

Background

In January 2018 the  law "On Privatization of State and Municipal Property was approved. The document has greatly simplified the procedure for selling state property, made it more transparent and open. All objects will be divided into two groups – objects of large privatization (the asset value of which exceeds UAH 250 mln) and objects of small privatization(the asset value is up to UAH 250 mln).
