Fellow compatriots!

On behalf of the Government I congratulate Ukraine on the Day of Liberation of Ukraine from Fascist Invaders!

Nazi occupation of Ukraine during the Second World War is one of the most tragic pages of our history. Massive persecution on grounds of nationality, the extermination of Jews, the shooting of the Ukrainian intelligentsia, the widespread attitude towards Ukrainians as second-class people - to replace the totalitarian regime in 1941 another one came to Ukraine for which the very existence of the Ukrainian nation was questionable.

The Nazis invasion and occupation by bloody tornadoes swept our country claiming dozens millions lives. At the expense of extraordinary superhuman efforts, the Ukrainians managed to survive in such conditions and to liberate their own land from yet another "liberators". This victory came at the expense of millions of deceased and ruined lives of millions. By the end of the war in Ukraine, virtually no family left that could have avoided losses. Therefore, the contribution of the Ukrainian people to victory over Nazism is invaluable. It will always remain in our memory, as also those who gave their lives protecting their own land from the invaders.

I express gratitude to all the liberators of Ukraine from the Nazi invaders for their courage and heroism! I honor with a minute of silence all those who died in the struggle against Nazism.
