At a turbulent time, when the situation causes alarm amog the people and increases the likelihood of rising crime level, law enforcement officers are stepping up their active presence in the streets to ensure the security of citizens, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky said on February 14 on air of the Svoboda Slova (Freedom of Speech – ed.) program.
"Increasing the police presence in cities and villages gives law-abiding citizens confidence, while for those who are set up for certain offenses, it is a warning," said the Interior Minister.
The effectiveness of such measures is confirmed by the recent training of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kalanchak: during the week of preparation and conduct of the exercises, no statement was received by the police and no theft was committed, both in and around the village.
