During a working trip to Volyn region on October 29, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal got familiarized with the activities of the Lutsk Motor Repair Plant.

The plant, among other things, specializes in overhauling aircraft engines and manufacturing spare parts for aircraft.

Lutsk Motor Repair Plant is a unique enterprise in Ukraine. A number of military aircraft engines are being repaired here. As part of import substitution, the production of parts for aircraft engines, which were previously purchased in Russia, was established here. The plant's products compete on an equal footing with the best plants in the world. This is a good example when the defense industrial sector drives the economic development of the country, "said Denys Shmyhal.

Plant "Motor" is a leader among Ukrainian enterprises for the repair of aircraft engines of the 3rd and 4th generations. And also - the enterprise which provides Air forces of Armed forces of Ukraine with the repaired engines to a number of fighter planes.

The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine needs to revive aircraft construction so that such companies can work more on the domestic market.

"Last year, we updated the Strategy for the revival of aircraft construction in Ukraine. In the draft budget submitted by the Government for next year, UAH 2 billion is planned for the aircraft industry. This includes research, new developments and modernization of aircraft," Denys Shmyhal underscored.
