On the Day of Dignity and Freedom, with the participation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a ceremony of placing icon lamps to the Cross took place on the Alley of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv.
The ceremony of commemorating the fallen participants of the Dignity Revolution gathered together Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak.
"In 2004, during the Orange Revolution and in 2013, during the Revolution of Dignity, Ukrainians demonstrated the incredible strength of unity and cohesion around fundamental values: dignity and freedom. Today, we bow our heads in memory of the heroes who gave their lives to uphold democratic principles. We also express our gratitude to the hundreds of thousands of those who stood up for the interests of our state and the European choice," said Denys Shmyhal.
After the placing of memorial candles, those present observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims.
