The introduction of a zero VAT rate on domestic air transportation will help reduce the cost of tickets and revive tourism in Ukraine. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stressed during a meeting on April 20.
The discussion gathered together Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii, Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko and Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko.
The participants of the meeting considered the introduction of a zero VAT rate on domestic flights for Ukrainian air carriers. According to the Head of Government, this is critical to revive Ukrainian tourism sector.
"Exemption from taxation will allow to cut expenditures and reduce the cost of tickets for domestic flights. Ukrainians, for their part, will have wider access to fast and safe travel inside the country. We must bring these legislative changes about as soon as possible in order to increase the tourist flow this summer," said Denys Shmyhal.
On the outcomes of the meeting, the Prime Minister commissioned the ministries to carry out all necessary preparatory work and promptly elaborate appropriate amendments to the law.
