Prime Minister of Ukraine met with President of Estonia

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis discussed security issues, the sanctions policy and support for our state during a meeting in Kyiv.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Estonia for its firm stance regarding protection of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

"The voice of support of our friends and partners, in particular of Estonia, is heard all over the world today. We expect our partners to respond immediately to Russia's illegal actions with sanctions to halt and prevent further steps of aggression," said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.

The Head of Government stressed that amid the developments, political and economic support for Ukraine is also critical. Denys Shmyhal expressed hope that the countries of the Group of Seven would agree on the decision to establish a Stability and Reconstruction Fund for Ukraine.

The Prime Minister also thanked Estonia for providing Ukraine with a military field hospital, defense weapons and other assistance for the Ukrainian military.

During the meeting, Estonian President Alar Karis stressed the importance of preparing and introducing a package of sanctions against Russia. The President added that Estonia respected the European choice of Ukrainians and would further advocate giving Ukraine a European perspective.
