The European perspective of Ukraine and the consolidation of efforts to support our country were among the topics for discussion during a meeting in Kyiv by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria Alexander Schallenberg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Ivan Korčok and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that the visit of the foreign ministers of the three European countries was an important signal of solidarity with Ukraine. He thanked for providing economic, humanitarian and military support, as well as personally to the ministers for visiting the contact line the day before.
"I am grateful for the firm position of your countries. Today, we have a high level of support from the European Union and its member states. Practical assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is critical for us, as today Ukraine has become a shield of Europe in the face of the threat from the East," said the Head of the Ukrainian Government.
According to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the signing of Joint Declarations on the European perspective of Ukraine at the level of heads of state and government will be a clear signal that pro-European reforms in our country deserve the support of all EU member states. In this regard, Denys Shmyhal thanked Slovakia for signing the relevant declaration and expressed hope that the Czech Republic and Austria would soon officially support European integration.
During the meeting, the Foreign Ministers assured that Austria, Slovakia and the Czech Republic fully support Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
