Prime Minister of Ukraine met with Speaker of the Estonian Parliament

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the President of the Riigikogu (Parliament) of the Republic of Estonia Jüri Ratas raised security issues and cooperation in the field of digitalization during a meeting in Kyiv on February 8.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked for the visit and stressed he considered the presence of our international partners in Ukraine a key message of support and solidarity.

"Significant attention to Ukraine, the presence of our partners here and on the contact line is today a major impediment to the actions of the aggressor. We are grateful for the help that has contributed to the security of Europe's eastern border," stressed Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine also noted that our country had paid a high price for the European future, and it was critical for the Ukrainian society to get a clear plan for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of our country. Ukraine is expected to join NATO’s Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence.

Denys Shmyhal thanked Jüri Ratas for participating in the third Diia Summit. He noted that Estonia's experience and success in the field of digitalization had become an example for the introduction of digital technologies in Ukraine. Among the future projects, according to the PM, will be the implementation of the Electronic Border Queue project with Estonia.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine also thanked Estonia for its support of the Crimean Platform and continued work on the initiative in the parliamentary sector. According to Denys Shmygal, inter-parliamentary cooperation should become the basis for further development of the Crimean platform.

For his part, Jüri Ratas noted that Ukraine can count on Estonia's support, in particular in the terms of enlargement of the European Union.
