  • Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the Ambassador of Japan for stepping up cooperation between countries

    On September 23,  Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Mr. Takashi Kurai, who is completing his diplomatic mission.

    The Head of Government thanked the Ambassador of Japan  for his personal efforts aimed at enhancing friendly relations and strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Japan in all spheres.

    "Our active cooperation has given an important impetus to the further comprehensive development of relations between the two countries," Denys Shmyhal stressed.

    The Prime Minister thanked Japan for participating in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and for joining the joint Declaration of its participants.

    "We appreciate the financial and humanitarian assistance of the Government of Japan, as well as efforts to support democratic reforms in our country, the restoration of the eastern regions affected by armed aggression and the support of internally displaced persons from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

    The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Mr. Takashi Kurai assured that Japan will continue to actively support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
