  • Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk met with Vice-President of the EIB Vazil Hudák

    Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk and Vice-President of the European Investment Bank (hereinafter-EIB) Vazil Hudák discussed the expansion of the EIB-supported project portfolio in Ukraine at the meeting held on October 27.

    The Prime Minister stressed: “The European Investment Bank is one of the most important partners of the Ukrainian Government, in particular, the total amount of credit received through public administration development projects is worth € 5.9 billion.”

    In turn, Vice-President of the EIB congratulated the Prime Minister on his recent appointment emphasizing  that the EIB is interested in continuing cooperation with Ukraine and expressed support for the country on its European integration path.

    Oleksiy Honcharuk made an emphasis on the fact that the Government of Ukraine is open to cooperation within the framework of the project "European Roads III", the program of development of vocational education, reconstruction of the airstrip of the Boryspil airport and the investment program of JSC "Ukrposhta".

    The Prime Minister underlined that he  hopes that the cooperation programs will encapsulate support for small and medium-sized businesses, infrastructure development, including public transport, and energy efficiency. He hailed the support of humanitarian and reconstruction projects implemented with the assistance of the EIB in the government-controlled areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and expressed his hope for continued cooperation.

    Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister of Ukraine welcomed the signing of a trilateral memorandum between the Government of France, the European Investment Bank and city of Mariupol on cooperation in the reconstruction of water supply and sewerage system of Mariupol  which will take place at the RE: Think. Invest in Ukraine investment  forum.
