Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk met with parliamentary delegation from Japan

Ukraine has plans to invest in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk said during a meeting with a delegation of the Japan-Ukraine Friendship Parliamentary League Eisuke Mori.

“We are waiting to have Japan as our partner in this matter. This is a great opportunity to draw attention to the importance of safety of nuclear power plants”, said Oleksiy Honcharuk.

Chairman of the Japan-Ukraine Friendship Parliamentary League Eisuke Mori said security related to nuclear energy sector should be among the key priorities for our bilateral cooperation. Mr. Eisuke Mori expressed hope that the meeting would be the start of joint activities in the energy domain.

The participants of the meeting also discussed the possible cooperation in the field of information technology. According to Mr. Eisuke Mori, it is the vector of IT that can be an impetus for the development of Ukraine: "I got the impression that the development of this sphere opens up the future for your country."

Oleksiy Honcharuk added that the IT industry is now one of the most progressive in Ukraine. “The development of IT industry is one of the topmost priorities for our Government. We would be happy to consider sharing our experience with you”, said the Prime Minister.
