According to the Prime Minister, this resource will allow to develop the economy and economic potential of the region.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a press briefing as a part of a working trip to Kherson region on September 10. According to the PM, the Government is drawing out a strategy for reforming the State Regional Development Fund (SRDF) in connection with the implementation of decentralization reform.
"The concept and approaches to the use of funds of the SRDF must be retrofitted. Among the main parameters that have already been presented and are being prepared by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development - 3% of the budget should be allocated to the SRDF", Denys Shmyhal said.
According to the Prime Minister, resources of the SRDF will be distributed among the areas.
"50% - state infrastructure objects, which are under Government control, line ministry or other state institutions. 30% - objects of the regional level, and 20% - territorial communities. Both regions and communities will receive funding on a competitive basis, " the Head of Government said.
The PM dwelled on that an indispensable condition for the allocation of funds will be a justification of economic efficiency, feasibility, as well as an indication of the economic consequences of the projects.
The Head of Government added that this is the first stage of the reform of financing investment projects in Ukraine, which is scheduled for discussion with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and local authorities.
