On Thursday, April 23, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal arrived in Uzhgorod on a working visit.

A Governmental delegation also comprises First Deputy Chairman of the Office of the President Serhii Trofimov, Deputy Minister of Health, Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko, Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko and newly appointed Chairman of the Zakarpattia Regional State Administration Oleksii Petrov.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine has summoned a meeting of the Regional headquarters on emergency response to combat the epidemic and take additional measures to prevent the spread in Zakarpattia region of COVID-19 acute respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

“Medical personnel who are on the frontline of the coronavirus battle must obtain decent wages. It is critical for the local community to realize and support them. In addition, we are currently working to introduce additional social guarantees for healthcare professionals. This is an essential issue,” Denys Shmyhal stressed.

Following the Regional headquarters meeting, an online briefing will be held.
