These include raising the pay for the medical personnel involved in the fight against COVID-19.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced during an online briefing on the outcomes of a meeting of the Regional headquarters on emergency response to combat the epidemic and take additional measures to prevent the spread in Zakarpattia region of COVID-19 acute respiratory disease.
The Head of Government emphasized that measure No.1 is to increase the payment for all healthcare workers - from emergency medicine to specialized, for every professional who are involved in the fight against COVID-19.
“We have already launched a number of social projects by now. Those include supporting the pensioners, the unemployed. Indeed, during the quarantine, the unemployment rate has grown. This problem is of top priority on our daily agenda,” the Head of Government stressed.
Moreover, Denys Schmyhal noted that several small and micro business support programs had been introduced, in particular, Affordable Loans at 5-7-9 and New Money programs.
In addition, the Head of Government added that the Government in synergy with the Ministry of Social Policy and the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture was working on creating new jobs.
“Today, hundreds of thousands of jobs are needed. And we will be ready to present these jobs and provide them in the near future, so that people will be able to find a job right after weakening restrictions and end of the quarantine,” said Denys Shmyhal.
He stressed that the economy is operating in Ukraine. The consumer sector such as the restaurant business, hotel business, mass events has been locked down aimed to break the chain of infection.
“But the entire critical infrastructure is operating. All exporting companies function. If we take sociological surveys, 70% of people attend work in Ukraine,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine concluded, adding that a social distancing, the new working conditions should definitely be respected.
