During a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region on October 8, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and First Lady Olena Zelenska got acquainted with the work of educational institutions.
In the city of Dnipro, the Prime Minister and the President's wife inspected the educational complex №33 "Mariinsky Multidisciplinary Gymnasium - Secondary School of the First Degree".
In the institution, they got familiarized with the work of the museum of Vadym Sidur - a famous avant-garde sculptor and a graduate of the gymnasium. They also looked around the classrooms, the sports ground and the dining room.
"This year, the Mariinsky Gymnasium has completed a major overhaul under the President's Great Construction program. The children received modern and comfortable conditions for learning, which should contribute to their educational success. The building has been equipped with the necessary infrastructure for low-mobility groups and children with special needs," said the Prime Minister.
Denys Shmyhal and Olena Zelenska also visited the Solonyansky Lyceum, where they talked to students. They got acquainted with the work of the STEM laboratory and the school canteen.
"Scientific, technical and engineering specialties are in high demand nowadays. So last year, our Government approved the concept of STEM education, as it will provide an opportunity to create a basis for the professions of the future. It is good that there are such educational institutions that introduce innovative technologies into the educational process," said Denys Shmyhal.
Apart from that, Prime Minister noted the importance of implementing school nutrition reforms and reforming the New Ukrainian School (NUS). The Head of Government stressed that the school should become a place where a healthy and qualified generation is brought up.
