The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by setting the limit cost of services for the heating and hot water supplies for consumers, removed an "ineffective" component that entailed an increase in tariffs and forced Ukrainians to pay more. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman told about it on air of the ICTV channel.

"We have withdrawn the inefficiency, people had to pay for", said Volodymyr Groysman. "We made a decision that the tariff rate (per 1 GCal heat) should not exceed UAH 1400. It will be an economy. We called it Fair Bill. We will force the communal grandees to bring the cost of heat in compliance."

The Head of Government stressed that the results of the analysis of the cost of heating in different regions showed that some companies supplying resources were registered in the offshore. "And I requested the mayors of cities to plunge into the problem and find out the situation. This is fundamentally important", said Volodymyr Groysman. "The price of gas for the whole country is equal. And I do not understand why given one price of gas in one city the rate of 1 gigacalorie of thermal energy is UAH 1,300 and in another - over UAH 2,000 UAH. Now gas prices are at the bottom line."

As a reminder, under the Government's decision, in Ukraine, the threshold prices for 1 GCal of thermal energy is introduced at the level of UAH 1,400 in case of metering device installed or UAH 35.21 per 1 square meter in case of metering device not installed. For hot water - UAH 83.66 per 1 cubic meter in case of towel dryer installed and connected to the systems of hot water supply, UAH 75.74 per 1 cubic meter - in case of towel dryer not installed.

Apart from that, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, within the framework of the initiative to establish fair prices for heating and hot water supplies for Ukrainians, has opened a register of owners of district heating provision companies throughout the country and commences massive checks on the formation of tariffs on the ground. Commenting on this decision, the Prime Minister noted that the current objective now is to ensure implementation of the decision on fair pricing. The Head of Government also appealed to the mayors with the demand to analyze the tariff formula, purge away all corruption components and give people fair utility bills. "We are elected by people to do our job professionally", said Volodymyr Groysman.
