Through the man-made emergency situation in the port of Beirut in the Lebanese Republic, on August 6, Denys Shmyhal instructed to check the safety of storage facilities of ammonium nitrate by businesses.
"To carry out unscheduled measures of state supervision over compliance with legislation in the field of labor protection, man-made and fire safety by economic entities that store ammonium nitrate in bulk for use in enterprises of any industry, as well as use it for the production of calcium nitrate, complex and liquid fertilizers", the document reads.
The Prime Minister gave the relevant commission to the Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii, the head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Mykola Chechotkin, the acting head of the State Labor Service of Ukraine Vitalii Sazhienko, the head of the National Police of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko and the heads of regional and Kyiv city state administrations.
The aforesaid officials must inform the Cabinet of Ministers about the results of the inspection by September 15, 2020.
According to the official data of the Ministry of Health of Lebanon, as of the end of August 5, 2020, more than 135 people were killed, dozens of people went missing, and about 5,000 people were injured as a result of explosions in Beirut. According to local officials, about 300,000 people were left homeless.
According to the latest information received from the Lebanese authorities, as of 09:00m a.m., August 6, 2020, citizens of Ukraine were not among the dead or injured.
