The issue of security will be a priority for many years after the war is over. To this end, the Government is already forming a new system and new approaches. This was emphasised by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

At a meeting on April 7, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Concept of Security of Educational Institutions. According to the Head of Government, the Concept is not only about building modern, comfortable shelters – it also provides for new approaches to fire safety, school security with the involvement of relevant police units, new approaches to access control, video surveillance, and inclusiveness.

“The concept will also allow us to introduce clear algorithms for action in case of danger, additional training for teachers and students on how to act in different situations. We want our children to continue their education in the safest possible environment,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister noted that this year UAH 1.5 billion in subventions had been allocated to the regions for the construction of quality shelters in schools. The Government expects local authorities to show quick results and efficient use of the allocated funds.
