The development of Crimea's infrastructure after de-occupation will take place within the framework of the European Green Deal course, which is one of the key principles of the Ukraine Recovery Plan. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted during the Second Summit of the International Crimea Platform, which took place on August 23 in an online format with the participation of representatives of almost 60 countries and organizations.

The Head of the Government has stressed that russia is systematically destroying the Crimean nature, therefore Ukraine will pay special attention to the development of environmental aspect.

"Introduction of modern environmental and climate standards for enterprises of the Crimean Peninsula, primarily for the chemical industry. Restoring nature protection status to important ecosystems of Crimea. Restoring soil fertility and systematical solving the problem of water use on the peninsula. New regional waste management policy. Eliminating the consequences of russia's militarization of the peninsula. All these are important issues that will allow us to  restore in a structured manner the ecology of the Ukrainian peninsula," Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

As the Prime Minister noted, the energy component is also an important sector of the development of the Ukrainian Crimea. In particular, the Crimean energy system will be fully integrated into the Ukrainian energy grid, and therefore will be integrated into the European ENTSO-E system. There will take place the development of renewable energy sources as well, including the implementation of wind energy projects in the waters of the Black and Azov seas.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal noted that the removal of the military threat from the russian federation will unlock access to more than 2 trillion cubic meters of natural gas in the Black Sea shelf of Ukraine.
