Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Health Viktor Liashko visited the sites intended for the relocation of some departments of the Okhmatdyt hospital until it is restored.
“After the horrific terrorist attack by the russians – a missile strike on the children’s hospital Okhmatdyt – the young patients were promptly transferred to different hospitals in Kyiv. But it is more important than ever for the children from Okhmatdyt to be with their doctors, to see familiar faces,” said Denys Shmyhal.
According to the Government’s instruction, the patients of Okhmatdyt will be transferred to Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospitals No. 1 and No. 2. The process of moving equipment is also underway.
“It is important that the new locations provide the necessary conditions for the children’s stay and treatment,” said Denys Shmyhal.
The Head of Government and the Minister of Health also visited specialised medical institutions, in particular, the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health and the National Cancer Institute, which temporarily accepted some patients.
“All these medical institutions have provided the best facilities and equipment for young patients. I am grateful to the entire medical community for their prompt response and fulfilment of the Government’s order,” the Prime Minister said.
After discussing the urgent needs of the hospitals, the Head of Government instructed the Ministry of Health to immediately submit the relevant requests and keep the issue under control.
