Today, on 10 July, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Kateryna Pavlichenko met with representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Sweden. The main topic of the talks was cooperation between the ministries in the field of civil protection.
The parties discussed support for the units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in evacuating civilians from the frontline areas, countering hybrid threats, responding to emergencies, conducting humanitarian demining and providing psychological protection.
“Representatives of the Swedish civil defence authority have expressed interest in sharing their experience in evacuation, creating a system of shelters for civilians, alerting authorities and the public about emergencies, organising operations in the areas affected by hostilities and responding to chemical and radiation threats. The units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine have already gained experience and are ready to share it,” commented Kateryna Pavlichenko.
