Ukraine continues to disburse child benefits to families under the updated support system, which has been in effect since this year. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

“Nearly 170,000 families have already received this assistance. The state supports families at every stage,” noted the Head of Government.

Specifically, during pregnancy and childbirth periods:

• A one-time childbirth assistance of UAH 50,000 UAH has been paid to nearly 28,000 women who gave birth since January 1, 2026;

• Nearly 20,000 women have received pregnancy and childbirth benefits. This amounts to UAH 7,000 in monthly support during the period before and after childbirth.

For childcare:

• over 114,000 families have already received payments for caring for a child aged under 1. Since the beginning of this year, this amounts to UAH 7,000 per month during the child’s first year of life;

• funds under the eYasla program have already been disbursed to over 5,280 families. This amounts to UAH 8,000 UAH per month for a mother, father, or guardian returning to work after the child turns 1 year old.

The funds received can be used, in particular, to pay for childcare services, educational services, and personal care items.

The Government continues to improve the system of child benefits. Starting in March, it is possible to open a special account at Oschadbank.

“We are currently finalizing the work so that all child benefits can be applied for through Diia and received on a single card. We are also preparing a decision regarding the revision of the time limits for using the funds,” commented Yulia Svyrydenko.
