The National Health Service (NHS) paid UAH 1 billion 927 million to hospitals. These are payments for March for specialized medical institutions.
A total of 595 health care providers across the country received payments, including private facilities. Of these, 338 institutions received payment for March. Among them are oncology dispensaries, perinatal centers, city, district and regional hospitals.
Payments are now a priority for hospitals that have in-patient facilities and perform surgeries. And also - emergency medical centers. Earlier, on March 2, the NHS has already paid almost UAH 947 million to emergency medical care centers for its readiness to provide medical care in March.
The NHS operates on a full-time basis and makes every effort to ensure that every Ukrainian has access to medical care. Reports are continuously processed and submitted for payment to the State Treasury.
In order to ensure stable payments to hospitals, regardless of the technical ability to keep medical records in the electronic health care system, the NHS has initiated changes in regulations. They envisage that for the period of martial law, institutions will receive fixed amounts of money to ensure the uninterrupted provision of medical care to Ukrainians.
Natalia Husak, Head of the NHS: "Today the entire medical system of the country works in difficult conditions. Without exaggeration, the life of Ukrainians depends on how honestly all parts of this system do their work. Our goal is to ensure continuous and stable payments for health care providers. I want to assure you that we have the resources and opportunities to fulfill all our obligations to our partners and to the Ukrainian people. Thank you to all the medical workers who are rescuing our defenders, the peaceful people who have been victims of the war, and all those who need medical care and attention at this time. We work as a united front. We believe in victory! ".
