The first additional payments have begun for personnel in emergency restoration teams who worked in January to deal with the aftermath of attacks and restore infrastructure following russian shelling.

More than 4,700 workers – railway employees and staff at heat and water supply enterprises – have started receiving an additional UAH 20,000 in state support.

This concerns those who, amid shelling, freezing temperatures and round-the-clock work, restored electricity, heating, water supply and transport links.

“The state is consistently supporting those who keep the country going in the most difficult moments. Utility workers and railway staff worked in the cold and without sleep to bring light, heat and water back to Ukrainian homes. These payments are a sign of our gratitude and a concrete step in support of your daily selfless work,” said Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration and Minister for Communities and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuleba.

In total, UAH 246.4 million will be allocated from the state budget reserve fund for these payments.

Of this amount: UAH 94.5 million is earmarked for employees under the remit of the Ministry for Communities and Territorial Development; UAH 151.92 million is for employees in the fuel and energy sector (via the Ministry of Energy).
