The issue of providing patients with medicines  should be easily resolved instead of making shadow schemes in the system of  procurement of medicines. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during an expanded meeting on providing citizens with medicinal preparations.

The Head of Government reminded that the Government  has recently approved several important decisions in the field of provision of medicines. Among them are the simplification of the licensing system for drugs that have certificates of quality in line with the European and American standards, as well as the launch of the Available medicines program, which is now covering all the regions of Ukraine without exception.

"We allocated a significant resource for the purchase of medicines and switched to the procurement system through international organizations. Apart from that, we began to eradicate the schemes that for decades have been a source for corruption", the Prime Minister stressed.

The Head of the Government assured that the existing speculations concerning the purchase of  drugs are the feedback response of  those involved in gray schemes. But despite this confrontation, the plan of action will be continued. And in addition to procurement, the system of provision of medical insitutions is undergoing changes.

He stressed that all attempts to counteract government programs today are an attempt to give green light to old drug procurement schemes and populism. "I will not stand such destructive phenomena. I  only stand for putting in practice a system that stipulates for purchasing medicines at affordable prices, so that people could get access to treatment", the Head of the Government added.
