The issues of peace, security and expansion of economic cooperation between the countries were discussed by President of Angola João Lourenço and First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko.
The meeting took place during the working visit of the Ukrainian delegation headed by Yuliia Svyrydenko to Brazil, on the eve of the inauguration ceremony of the new President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
"The wise position of the President of Angola João Lourenço was manifested in the clear support of Ukraine within the United Nations. Thanks to the direct dialogue between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and João Lourenço, Angola has a very deep understanding of the situation in Ukraine. And the strategic relations between Angola and Brazil will help us build an international coalition to support the territorial integrity of Ukraine and counter russian aggression. Taking into account the historical ties between Ukraine and Angola, after the end of the war, the countries will continue to deepen cooperation," Yuliia Svyrydenko stressed during the meeting.
In his turn, President of Angola João Lourenzo reaffirmed his firm position in support of Ukraine's right to defend its territorial integrity, independence and the right of our country to choose its own geopolitical vector of development. He condemned the military aggression of russia and wished a speedy end to the war in Ukraine.
The parties also discussed a number of issues of intensification of trade and economic cooperation and food security in the African region.

In general, about 95% of Ukrainian exports to Angola are food products. In recent years there has been a positive dynamics of trade growth between Ukraine and Angola.
